in the 1971 film the grandad gifts him a Wonka "moonpie". later on in the movie he finds a coin in a sewer and goes into a store and that is when he gets the Wonka chocolate bar with the golden ticket. it's always been like this. I'm 53.

OK, yes that was really screwed up for that scene because that’s not how that scene went. First of all the lady is 100% correct. I have been a walker fan since I was a child decades ago. I have seen the movie so many times I literally can quote it. I’m one of those geeks. There has no time ever been a marshmallow Wonka. I am familiar with 137 Wonka candies through the years and that has not been one of them. Plus when Charlie broke up the bar to share they did not want it at first, but Charlie insisted that it would make him happy if the grandparents would all have a piece.

It was always a moon pie. I grew up watching this version. He gets the moon pie from grandpa Joe. Then gets a bar from him later on. Then the two from the shop, with one containing the ticket

Okay. Charlie had got some chocolate bars to try to get a golden ticket . He was unsuccessful and there was only one of four or five tickets lefts in the world. His grandfather and him had opened up a bar with what they believed to be the last bit of money the family had. They were unsuccessful at finding the last ticket… the grandfather then remembered he had Wood seem to be a dollar gold coin he then gave Charlie his last gold coin to buy a chocolate and hope to find the ticket he went to the store and picked up a chocolate bar I repeat a Willy Wonka chocolate bar, unwrapped it bit it and found a gold ticket a mysterious man with glasses, a black hat, and a trenchcoat tried to buy a ticket from him. He declined somebody said run Charlie run and he ran all the way home to show his dad his granddad got up, yada yada yada out of bed.

Then his grandfather gave him his tobacco money to buy another chocolate bar which he did and then he found change on the street and bought a chocolate bar where he won the golden ticket. I think you guys are confusing the second movie where he did actually get a chocolate bar for his birthday.

that scene is correct . there was many types of wonka products .. a long skinny bar he first got and ate in the shop with greed . a moon pie his granddad bought him . then a solid bar he bought with the coin he found in the street .. he found the ticket at the shop in a bar of chocolate born 81

I'm 42 it was a moon pie for his birthday i remember being sad for him and secondhand embarrassment on this scene because it wasn't the chocolate bar all the other kids were getting. the first bar was with grandpa joes tobacco money and and he was let down again and tries to share it. then he finds money in the street goes in the store buys a candy bar and it was like 3 round chocolates he scarfs down then decides to go back in and get another bar and that is the one he finds the golden ticket in
