@crmnallyobsessed: ARE CRIMINALS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE WORLD CUP? Rhode Island State Police arrested six men in connection to a human trafficking and exploitation sting, and they’re theorizing that it’s the World Cup that’s bringing their crimes to light. The sting operation, known as “Operation Red Card,” targeted people who sought to engage in commercial sex acts, child exploitation, and other activities related to human trafficking during the FIFA World Cup. Police arrested 60-year-old Franco Miccoli, 38-year-old Travis Shaw, 38-year-old Rocky Joseph, 34-year-old Richard Lallier, 27-year-old Joshua Lincoln, and 26-year-old Jacob Palazzo. Each suspect is facing charges related to the indecent solicitation of a minor. Dan Brunner, a former FBI agent, said large-scale sporting events often attract an influx of criminal behavior due to the sheer volume of people traveling to the area. Earlier in June, seven people were arrested and charged with similar crimes in Massachusetts. That operation, known as “Operation Yellow Card,” led to the rescue of 35 missing children. The stay safe from criminal activity, officials suggest staying in well lit areas, knowing where you’re going, and keeping a watchful eye on your children and their devices. #worldcup #crimenews #policesting #fbi
