Boomer mum here who was married to a soldier. Which meant he was constantly away. Lived at least a two hour drive away from family. Managed to run a household, work full time and raise my daughter mostly single-handedly because what else could I do?! Had to get on without, regardless of how I was feeling. Wouldn’t trade those years for anything. ❤️
