@jessicafordsings: bone conduction and the brain’s internal processing of your own voice. It’s not a neurological disorder—it’s a normal neurological process. Here’s why it happens: * When you speak, you hear your voice in two ways: * Through the air (air conduction), like everyone else hears you. * Through vibrations in your skull (bone conduction), which add more low frequencies and make your voice sound richer and deeper to you. * When you hear a recording, the bone-conduction component is gone. You’re hearing only the air-conducted sound, so your voice often sounds thinner, higher, or unfamiliar. There’s also a brain component called speech self-monitoring (or the brain’s efference copy/corollary discharge system). Your brain predicts what your voice should sound like while you’re speaking. When you hear a recording, it doesn’t match that prediction, so it can sound “wrong” or even unpleasant. #sing #pretty #good
