hi there! my friend has a pet dog and she's really cute, but i've never really had a dog before so i feel awkard petting her. i've pet other dogs before but usually i do it while talking to their owner, so im not looking at the dog, but i hang out at my friends house so i just look at the dog. and i know that hard staring animals is bad so i dont really know what to do but i watch her body language to know when she doesnt want pets, but i feel like im staring at her and making her uncomfortable because she doesnt close her eyes for pats. i dont know what to do with my face to make her feel at ease, with my cat i just slow blink. does that work on dogs too?
