Ten years ago, Anthony Bourdain agreed to stand for this Brief But Spectacular interview. At the time, I was working out of a co-working space, and when the receptionist called and said, “Tony is here,” I almost didn’t know who she was talking about. He arrived alone and was both kind and soft-spoken. We filmed in a tiny windowless office with terrible lighting. Only as we wrapped did I notice a growing collection of people hovering nearby, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.
