I think the main reason why they didn’t get rebuilt was trauma. It would be very unsettling for survivors seeing a replica of the twin towers.

It would be a constant reminder of the tragedy, the way they did it with the memorial and then one huge tower to represent unity and perseverance was probably the best choice
