after two years of having a cyclic vomiting syndrome diagnosis (and many years having it before), 6 hospitalizations, and always being told it's "anxiety" and "pms," I FINALLY got a medication. exact same reason as this video...and today I had my first nausea free day in about 4 years!!!

i’ve been complaining about severe urticaria for YEARS and it finally showed up after an iron infusion (had a severe full body reaction). dr did a full blood panel found hashimoto’s disease (completely unrelated) 😭 still no clue why i experience severe urticaria

Once… just once, I’d like to go into a flare and then suddenly pass out at an appointment

It’s sad this is how it has to be. I take pictures or videos so they can see/believe me.

I passed out during my POTS standing test and finally got a referral after doctors telling me for YEARS that I was just unfit and need to exercise (mind you I do field work and well over 10k steps a day)

Why does a doctor need to witness an actual occurrence and not just believe what we say? With it taking days or weeks to get an appointment, the chances of that happening is low. Rarely can you see your doctor the day you are actually ill. Almost have to book an appointment every day of the week, then cancel it if you don't feel ill on that particular day. So frustrating. 😠 Hard to believe doctors used to actually make house calls when you were sick. Medical system is so broken in several countries, regardless of whether or not it's univeral healthcare. 😢

A few years ago, using my Apple Watch, I recorded an EKG while I was having an SVT episode after years of wearing monitors and nothing happening while I had them on.

Over the years I’ve learned what flares me and intentionally do those thing the week leading up to my appointment. I also always try to get the last appointment of the day which is a gamble because the med staff is over it by then but my symptoms flare at night 🤷♀️

yes! after struggling to get a POTS diagnosis I was SO ill the day of my cardiology appointment. I forced myself to the appointment and my heart rate was 170+BPM and they started my treatment the same day

I passed out at my appointment and instead of a POTS diagnosis, they billed my insurance double as a “high complexity patient” 😑
