I’m starting school in January. Gonna spend the fall doing the NCRA A To Z and Project Steno basic training. My counselor for the program I’m going to enroll in is already so communicative, direct and already giving me advice and tips to set me up for success. Just based on a few emails I’m confident I’m picking a good school. It was also on NCRA’s recommended schools list.

I wasted so much time and fafsa at my last school. On top of that, my counsler was so incredibly rude to me and bitter for no reason. I switched schools and I’ve literally passed speeds I was stuck in for a year and a half.. IN A FEW MONTHS. I loved my new theory teachers and now my speed instructors 💖 Choosing a school is definitely important

Yep! College of Court Reporting is one! Started with 6 girls in my group, and we all either flunked during speeds or left. That school is great during theory, but the speedbuilding program needs to be more forgiving. I hope people do not do steno there, just voice.

So tempted to do self pace route once you reach speeds my program kicks you to the curve and makes you figure it out yourself it’s frustrating but I’m not giving up

I miss court reporting but my auto immune disease took one of my ears hearing and I am unsure if I would ever succeed if I went back to school 😅

I dropped from steno and switched to voice because the student loans were piling up and I also had a nervous breakdown 😭😭 I don't know how I managed another year (after 3 and a half for steno) with massive autistic burnout.
