@fleur_de_lis_amputee: I’m gonna share something that I wrote to myself in the very beginning of my limb loss journey. Back when I put so many unrealistic expectations on myself, that I almost didn’t make it out alive. The feeling of wanting to just give up, feeling totally defeated, worthless, is a feeling I made a promise to myself that I will never allow myself to feel ever again, nor will I ever allow anyone else to make me feel that way either. It was a process like everything else in life. I had to teach my patience to be able to Trust the process. I never compare myself to another person, without or with their limbs. My journey is my own and you’ll always shine when the time is right. On the days I was still figuring out the process I would go back and read this to myself however many times I needed. Sometimes I like reading it and smile thinking back to when I thought I didn’t want to, I couldn’t live like this. Now, I wouldn’t take my leg back if it were ever humanly possible.
