I hate seeing new grads/ppl ab to graduate knock med surg. It’s the most accepting unit. The dream jobs usually require 2 years of experience minimum. Find a unit that will allow you to cross train and get your certs up then do what you want

I’m starting my first two years on a medsurg floor! I’m sick of people knocking it all the time. It’s a great place to gain confidence in yourself and your skills. Plus it allows me to work days💙

I’m a medsurg nurse and love my job. Yes when I explain it to people it’s just diarrhea and confusion. But it’s who you work with and I love the variety. It is a specialty in itself too- give yourself the chance to love it.

MedSurg will help you build real and very valuable skills and while it might not be your forever unit, it will help you grow as a nurse.

Never knew how hard MS was and now i work one I’m grateful for all the experiences/great coworkers I have. For now I’m fine staying here and not specializing. Being well rounded in all fields is great!

As a Medsurg new grad, all I can say is: While it is truly crazy, I am very thankful for all the learning experiences I have acquired in the last year (while I was doing my externship and on the same unit right now for my new grad job). I think it makes me acquire a strong base as a new nurse and am very grateful for my team.

listen, a job is a job and it's rough out there looking for one. I'm a CNA and new grad who passed my NCLEX last week, so when my oncology/medsurg unit said I can't start working there as an RN on NOCs, I took it without hesitation. I start in 2 weeks😊

I LOVED working med surg. I just had my last day on Sunday and am starting labor and delivery tomorrow. So grateful for all the friendships I made and everything I learned there. Having knowledge and skills down from being in the trenches will make me a better nurse.

I am leaving after almost 2 years with adults. I am actually kind of sad and will miss my big babies:(, but I’ll have new babies (tiny humans)🤍 Med surg made me into the nurse I am today. I will never forget🩺
