As a sonographer, I would literally quit if I saw a full body ultrasound come through my work queue. 😟

The idea that incidental findings are bad for patients is an issue with medical guidelines for follow-up, not an issue with information. If something is worth follow up, then do it. If it makes the patient worse off in expectation, don’t do it. Patients should be advised about the possible outcomes so they can choose not to get scanned if they know they would be too anxious, but a general policy of avoiding information is not right for all patients.

the hospital admin bought software for our clinic - without consulting us - that opens a program we were already using, adds a schedule that mirrors the one we fill, and stores data in the servers we own. all the admin bought was a sales pitch that dressed redundancy as efficiency.

My husband had one for “cancer screening” through his job and I asked my friend (a radiologist) what he thought about it and he said ULTRASOUND? Was an ouija board not available?

As a sonographer..... Ultrasounds aren't a quick picture and ✌️They take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour for one study. AND THATS ONLY ONE BODY PART. Full body? 😂
