@mothershipsg: [Editor's note for the subtitles: He says he's *owed more than S$2,400 in unpaid wages.../...a situation that led more than 100 workers *to gather at the Ministry of Manpower's Services Centre in Bendemeer on June 22] In the latest update, migrant workers from a third firm, VVR Plant Engineering, are joining those from two previous firms in seeking authorities’ help over unpaid wages. All three firms are found to share the same director, a Singapore permanent resident who has reportedly left the country. NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng said at the visit to the Tuas View Dormitory on the morning of Jun. 24 that “... abandoning the workers and not paying salaries is not something the NTUC will stand without acting upon it”. MOM will take the necessary and appropriate enforcement action against the companies should they be found to have breached any of the employment laws. The workers have been placed on an interim special pass for “a couple of weeks until they are connected to a new job”. #mothershipnews

Heartbreaking to see the impact of unpaid wages on workers and their families. 💔 Relief at the swift response from Ministry of Manpower, NTUC, and Migrant Workers Centre providing jobs and financial support. 🤝 Sending strength to all affected. Hope for justice and the support they deserve! 🏗️🇸🇬💪
