Every person is entitled to an opinion, but our opinions should be based on history, facts, and respect.
It is inaccurate to suggest that Africans from other countries are "foreigners" while Europeans should not be viewed the same way. A foreigner is simply someone who comes from another country, regardless of their race or continent.
Africa has a shared history. During colonialism and apartheid, many Africans fled to neighbouring countries in search of safety and freedom. Those neighbouring nations welcomed and supported them when they needed refuge. That history should remind us of the importance of solidarity rather than division.
South Africa's challenges—such as unemployment, crime, and poverty—are complex. Blaming people from other African countries does not solve these problems. We should focus on accountability, education, economic growth, and unity instead of spreading hostility.
Words have influence. As someone with a public platform, please use it responsibly. Encourage understanding, not division. Let us build an Africa where people respect one another, regardless of nationality, while still respecting each country's laws and borders.
Unity is stronger than hatred. History teaches us that division weakens us, but cooperation helps us all move forward.
