At WCW Uncensored 2000, Dustin Rhodes faced Terry Funk in a Bull Rope Match. Rhodes would be interviewed before walking out to the ring by Mean Gene Okerlund where Rhodes would refer to himself as the American Nightmare. Funk would then make his entrance with his fist stuffed inside a large chicken that had Dusty Rhodes name on it before sending someone in a chicken suit referring to himself as Dustins ”Baby Brother” (Cody Rhodes) out to the ring to antagonize Rhodes who would chase him only to be struck by Funks Chicken fist direct in the face. The match would take place where half way through Funk took the mic stating he changes the rules of the match to an I Quit Match. The referee would then dispute his claim before Funk would you clock him in the head with the cowbell sending him out of the ring before striking Rhodes with it as well. The match would come to an end when Dustin hit a pile driver onto the cowbell taking the 123. He would then grab the mic to insult funk before proceeding to give “More Cowbell” to Funk, who would manage to send roads out of the ring, grabbing the bull rope, swinging it like a madman, chasing roads off to the back before standing in the aisle, looking semi confused and infuriated. although now his “Baby Brother” carries the name, American Nightmare, the short-lived origins of a noteworthy memory remain worth watching for a deeper view into the road’s family during the time of onscreen and real life struggles, otherwise famously known as “Hard Times”.
