Ok, so I have the gaydar of a teaspoon, I don’t pick up on things a lot (didnt know my bff was gay till two years after knowing him), and I didn’t pick it up with elio, I did sort of with win or lose but like you said they butcher it so I was confused on if that really was what it was supposed to be. But I thought elio was supposed to be representation for people who are neurodivergent (which to my knowledge, we haven’t had that in Disney since lilo, in my opinion at least I thought she was and if it’s the case I think she was perfect.).

It really saddens me to see a company that made so many movies that were so important to me in childhood become such an uncreative, repressive, regressive, and even somewhat bigoted company. Finding Nemo and all the earlier Pixar movies will forever live in my heart, but Pixar keeps kneecapping their artist’s creativity and that really saddens me.

"Conversations they weren't ready to discuss" But Pixar is literally all about that. The base of every Pixar film is characters living their lives happily before life-changing events force them out of that comfort and they have to learn how to accept it. Inside Out 2 talks about puberty. Many movies deal with the loss of a loved one. A lot of parents are not ready to discuss this. Saying that you'll learn that later, or, in the case of loss, they might just say they've gone on a long vacation.

I’m still really sad that it wound up being Pete Docter… I’ve been a major Pixar buff my entire life… and I always considered him to be one of my favorite directors… not anymore. 😭

I like how we can watch the show and STILL think of Kai as trans. They didn't even try to make it any less obvious, from her outfit to the general colors. Kinda makes me wish that Pixar could be independent again. The show is so underrated

If yall remember the Owl House? It got super popular after it got cancelled for showing a queer relationship. Now they are trying to go back on it with that Hexed movie. It’s literally the same exact concept of the owl house but in a different font

So Pixar films can have themes of death, grief, changes and whatnot. You know, really hard hitting stuff that could give a kid a mortality crisis. But God forbid, you wanna tell a kid girls can love girls, boys can love girls, and some people are in the wrong bodies

Disney is also really bad at erasing queer characters. They shelved an entire Moongirl and devil dinosaur episode that centered on a trans girl in sports with the villain being a very obvious representation of a super transphobic Karen. Luckily this one did leak out so we can still see it if you know where to look

having taken a look at their pride collection.....aside from a few intentionally queer shows that already ended that were picked up from acquiring fx, like pose......everything is just shows that HAPPEN TO HAVE queer characters
