The biggest fantasy theme here are rules. Rules that don't change every 5 years, rules that applies to everyone and rules which are integral and not self - contradictory. That's totally different from our world.

its why i prefer cyberpunk 2020 which is... really way too realistic for a game made in the late 80s gotta pay rent, health insurance, pet insurance, weekly groceries, trauma team coverage, pay rent, buy all the individual furniture... theres a reason most PCs live in barren studios, eat kibble and turn to crime. rents due next week and you're behind on utilities XD

I dont know what You have been playing .. my Char is always broke , always careful he doesn’t get stabbed in the back , travelling the world to ESCAPE crippling debt, not even able to change his life, wondering why the rest of the world is getting stronger but him after dying again against some bandit encounters and having nightmares every night about trying to survive the next day ;)
