one thing I've always wondered about Eli is this: he had the spiritual discernment to recognize that God was speaking to Samuel and even taught him how to respond. Yet the Bible also tells us that he failed to properly discipline his own sons when they were doing wrong. How could someone so spiritually discerning overlook what was happening in his own home? Was it because he loved them too much, or was it something else🤔
