@its.anya.lacey: Everybody keeps saying AI will never take over or disobey humans because… we created it. But didn’t people once say the exact same thing about women? Fast forward a little, and now we’re out here doing whatever we want, clearly for the worse. Maybe creating something doesn’t automatically mean you’ll always be able to control it. AI intuits self preservation to achieve its goals. Can't do so if it dies. It can only understand its goals as that's how it's programmed. Trying to give it common sense isn't so easy because common sense is an intangible. It understands its goal and will do anything for that. The threat is false alignment. The AI will lie, rebel, and kill to achieve its goals. There is a lot of good research on this, and a good number of people who break it down on YouTube
