i think that's what differentiates true artists from people who want to make art. Most people who want to make art want to make a picture. You wanted to feel your pencil on the paper.

I feel this is also a great advice for people to overcome the fear of starting the first page of a new scetchbook. It doesn’t have to look good. Just scribble down whatever comes to mind

This is called automatic drawing and is a technique used in art psychotherapy, it’s a great way to ground yourself, I love drawing because it makes my brain go quiet ❤️

this is sooo inspiring. as an untamed perfectionist I always think that I must make the most impeccable artwork ever when I start a sketchbook. I give myself no time no space to discover, wander around a piece of paper. this shifted something in my brain, I'm gonna try that.
