I am so tired of having to prove myself as a writer. Stop having people write papers for a grade and move on to in class work, oral exams, and proctored writing labs if the writing is necessary for the class.

Does nobody else make a draft doc, type all your thoughts out, then make a different doc (so you still have your draft to refer to) so you can paste it and fix as you go???

omg i’m so glad AI wasn’t an issue when i was in school bc i used to write some stuff on my phone notes app when i was like on the bus or something. and then when i get home i copy and paste to google doc and open it on my computer and edit. i woulda been failed just for that LOL

These AI detection tools aren’t accurate, AI can’t detect AI. I once gave an AI my German exam to review and uploaded it as text not as pictures. It said it was AI. To be fair I got an A- or something. AI can’t detect AI because the output that it gives is the same what a human would give when writing a text, especially if it’s heavily source based.

You should accept the fact that using AI will be nessesary in the near future so if they still put in the effort to fact check, edit it so their liking, ect... there shouldn't be a problem

Ask em to tell you what the paper was about and to explain, like point out a paragraph you think is weird or suspicious and ask the student to elaborate out loud. If they can explain it, they did the work. If they can’t explain it, they just relied on the AI completely

i usually write my entire essay in google docs then copy it to grammarly then copy that and replace it. Not always ai

That’s sometimes what I do. I put all my own run on sentences and bullet points into GPT asking it to create a paragraph, and then I edit the paragraph to my liking. It my words it’s using, it just makes it grammatically correct.
