yes! it's the ultimate sport of late stage capitalism. the other sports produce wealthy people, but this sport is filled with already rich people. the sport is nepotism. most of the racers wouldn't be there if they were born poor

Not entirely to your point, but seems like many people watch F1 because it makes them feel rich and cultured. As if watching a race with luxury sponsorships and high end car brands in wealthy locations like Monaco makes you part of that world. But it's not tasteful in the slightest, Stake literally owns a team lol.

7 minutes and 49 seconds of nonsense, there is not 1 thing that its not valid for any other sport in the world, also hamilton is not the only driver that didnt come from money but yeah, the sport is too expensive for regular people but everything else you said was straight bullshit from someone who doesnt know anything of the sport.

The world is based on vanity projects and I don't know if that's good or bad, right or wrong. I'm neutral like Switzerland. If F1 makes a bunch of folks happy though, all gd! It inspires awe and that's a net good. I saw them showcase a car in Woking on a regular streer after McLaren won. The noise! Amazing.

Totally agree. I couldn't get into it for the same reason. Esp. when they talk about environmental policies, as if they're drivers aren't on jets and yachts when travelling between countries every year. Drive to Survive gave the false social contract like wrestling for me to suspend belief.

Motorsports always has and always will be a sport for rich people. I’m not an F1 ‘fan’ and don’t really follow it, but I’m fascinated by the engineering etc. I think like most sports these days, the focus has been taken off the sport and turned into a celebrity circus
