A woman accused of killing a construction worker in a hit-and-run was seen vaping during her arrest — and police say she had previously tried to repair the car allegedly involved in the deadly crash. Newly released bodycam footage shows the arrest of 26-year-old Courtney McKee, who is accused of striking and killing 50-year-old Miguel Jimenez, a construction flagger working in Gresham, Oregon, shortly before 5 a.m. on August 31. Investigators traced the suspected vehicle to McKee’s Vancouver, Washington, apartment, where officers found a white Toyota Camry with a damaged windshield, broken driver’s-side mirror and what appeared to be dried red droplets on the front bumper. But while officers were investigating the car on September 2, a glass repair technician showed up for an appointment to replace its windshield. Police stopped the repair and seized the vehicle as evidence. Investigators also obtained Ring camera footage allegedly showing McKee examining the windshield and speaking with an auto repair company the day after the crash. McKee was arrested September 29 and booked into the Clark County Jail on a tampering with physical evidence charge and a fugitive hold. Authorities say she is expected to face additional charges in Oregon, including first- and second-degree manslaughter, DUII, reckless driving and failure to perform the duties of a driver resulting in death. Watch the bodycam footage showing McKee vaping during her arrest as police investigate the deadly hit-and-run.
