If I’m out in the sun I don’t wear my pump I switch to pens and then resume to my pump when I’m not in the sun

usually my dr has me swap my omnipod daily if needed depending on my insulin I'm using if I am going to be out in the heat often and for a extended period

I wonder why in the 20 years I’ve had an insulin pump they’ve never told me this. I go in hot tubs and everything and my blood sugars are fine.

Heat affects diabetes period. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a pump or not. It has nothing to do with the insulin being good or not. I work outdoors 10-14 hrs per day and use Omnipod 5 and it works great even when it’s 115 out. The cold cusses my blood sugar to drop majorly, the heat causes it to to be higher whether I’m on a pump or not.
