well the cap is the primary seal so if you had a cap it wouldnt leak

I think all cars built today are 1234 refrigerant this is for 134a. It will help some people with older systems.

25 years as a mechanic i maybe replaced 2 that were leaking. 99% of the time its the ceramic seal on the front of the compressor

Or it’s the evaporator, the compressor, the condenser, the expansion valve…just throw a valve in it. That should work

The cores actually leak more than you think, work at a independent shop and Im required to check them every recharge and I would say 1 out of 4 cars are leaking from the valve core

Just put a good cap on it and itll hold. The schraders always leak a little bit. Granted that was more than a little bit

I won’t speak for automotive but I’m a mechanic for Deere and it’s definitely the valves 9/10 times. I’ve never seen an evaporator or condenser leak unless something caused them to leak
