This is not subfloor. We are refinishing our hardwood floors hence the use of the pliers to remove staples to avoid damages! Tedious work, yes. But worth it to avoid the risk of damages or extra sanding time! Thank you for all of your suggestions but I promise we know what we are doing😅

if you get a floor/ ice scraper, it will work so much faster and you get to do it standing up. when you get to the tac strips, slide a hammer on the floor and hit where the nails are and itll break and or uproot the nail

I made a video on my page recently about how I get up staples and tack strip. It will save you so much time. The rare ones that don’t come out you can circle back to with pliers. Trust me it will save you hours. I did the pliers method the first time and got so bored and over it so fast.

if you're doing this and gonna put another layer of flooring over the surface that has been nailed into just take a hammer and hit them into the wood. way easier.
