@samrinophotography: Ospreys are an absolute treasure and we can never lose them!! I can never get tired of watching and filming these incredible birds !! Best way I can describe them is fearless, warriors ,and hardest working raptors!! I was involved with a project last year by providing osprey footage to make a film as a presentation to show how incredible these birds are to try to get the number of menhaden (bunker fish) lowered that can be caught by commercial fishing that uses it to make omega3 oils. The depleted number of these fish is having a crazy impact on osprey nests survival in many areas like the Chesapeake Bay Area . The menhaden fish is invaluable to many ospreys as it is rich in fatty oils and nutrients needed for the adults and chicks . The number of menhaden was slightly lowered last year but no where near enough to help the situation. Working again with this project with a gentleman named William McKeever that’s leading this nonprofit film project for the 2nd year !! He is an incredible man that’s dedicated his life for wildlife conservation and awareness. I have seen so many reports of dwindling numbers of nests/chicks surviving for the past few years. I have also seen it first hand as a number of osprey nests that I visited were abandoned last year and a few already this year. I can’t imagine a world with no ospreys it would be absolutely heartbreaking for me 😔 NO AI or drones ever used in any of my videos!! Just my camera my lens and I filming the wildlife that I love !!
