This is a very lazy take. It was President Park in the 60s (who was a dictator, yes, rising through a coup) that changed South Korea’s economic prosperity, not the US. He laid down the economic plan for Korea to become an export led nation and used foreign loans to do so. He opens up the country’s first highway system to connect every corner of the country and enable logistics and commerce. He mandated industries to be developed by force and nurtured the Cheobols (Samsung, SK,Hyundai, etc) to continue the industry development. He essentially modernized Korea that led to the modern day success.

Japan and South korea are westernized because they are heavily dependent on American military compared to Chína which is very independent, more traditional and not westernized compared to them.

Nonesense. Japan exist w similar geopolitical partnership yet distinctly Japanese. 🤔 Due to geographical juxtaposition SKorea has always been opened and sponge to other cultural influences from China, Japan and today US.
