I just want to say this goes both ways. People came here seeking safety, and we opened our doors with empathy and compassion. Our country and its citizens made sacrifices through our taxes, our economy, and most of all, through the lives of our military who fought and died for the freedoms we all enjoy. Many Americans struggle too & some of our veterans and citizens are living on the streets. It hurts when people speak as though we’re heartless, when all we did was open our country and offer a haven as best we could. This situation is difficult for everyone, and now our country is trying to heal and rebuild too. Just as we opened our arms, we hope people can now take what they’ve gained here , resources, education, opportunities and go forward with strength, whether that means rebuilding their homeland or making positive change elsewhere. For me, there’s no hate in my heart. I just hope that God sees all of us, knows our intentions, and gives us grace for any missteps we’ve made along the way. I pray for healing and compassion for everyone involved. God bless.
