Unfortunately this trend still exists, any modern building will always highlight only the architect of record, you’ll have to do some digging to find who the actual builder was and nearly impossible to find who the sub contractors are that were the real boots on the ground working it. As a modern day builder working on some of the biggest projects in the country, I WANNA KNOW TOO!

MKE has some incredible architecture that has been lucky enough to survive the demolition trend of the 20th century! The Mitchell building, Turner Hall, Pabst Brewery, the basilica, Schlitz Brewery, the federal courthouse, heck even the Joan of Arc chapel built in 1420. The stories about the construction of the basilica and the chapel are especially unique. Yay MKE!

The Milwaukee City hall is massive and amazing inside. Beautiful woodwork and stained glass it’s stunning like a church.
