Zanjeerain (2026) is the latest collaboration between director Shahzad Kashmiri and writer Farhat Ishtiaq — the same celebrated duo behind Yaqeen Ka Safar, and produced by Momina Duraid. From the very first frame, it announces itself as something grander and more atmospheric than the average primetime serial. The story unfolds against the breathtaking backdrop of lush green mountains, weaving together a world where love, greed, and buried secrets collide. Everyone in this world is hiding something, some are imprisoned by old customs and inherited loyalties, others are consumed by hunger for power, and some are simply trying, desperately, to shield the people they love. At the centre of it all is Rabia, played by Sajal Aly, a young woman who runs a modest dhaba with her brother, grounded and self-sufficient in a world that constantly threatens to swallow people like her whole. On the other side of the social divide is Sar Buland, played by Danyal Zafar, son of a prominent family embroiled in a bitter, long-running feud with their powerful rival, Zafran Khan. When Zafran’s men attack their fields, the violence that follows ignites a vow of retaliation from Sherdil, played by Ahsan Khan — a man whose very name suggests the storm he carries within him. Dramanagar Beneath the conflict between these two families, locked in a grudge passed down through generations, is a younger generation quietly aching to break free.
