Retail managers and scheduling do no mix. When you tell them you need more hours. They take you off the schedule. When you tell them you need less hours. They schedule you for six days in a row, double shifts each. Then they suddenly have no idea why people just stop showing up to work.

Anyone who hasn’t worked a server job, it typically pays much less than minimum wage, often 2.15 an hour, which makes changing your position to an untipped one reduce your wages down to $17.20 total for a full 8 hour shift, $86 for a 40 hour week.

everyone i talk to who works in customer service has managers who act like they don't know how to schedule but the moment you take vacation or ask for a day off they punish you by giving to many hours. its fucking ridiculous. but wjen you actually need hours they go "sowwy:((( scheduling is just...so hard....." and its literally they only thing they do

I had put in a two weeks notice with my boss. She sent me my schedule for my last week, only working Saturday and Sunday, I’m like that’s fine. I come to work on Saturday and all the employees are staring at me like- Why are you here? You ain’t on the schedule? -Turns out, my boss changed my schedule so that I wouldn’t work at all that last week and never told me about the change. They basically cut my hours.
