@my.macros: The truth is that none of us actually know how much we're eating unless we're tracking it. We think we do, but we don't, and the splash of creamer in your coffee is the easiest example to prove it. A black coffee is around 5 calories. The same mug with an unmeasured pour of creamer + a spoonful of sugar ends up around 165. That's not a splash, that's 32x the calories, and unless you put the mug on a scale you'd genuinely never know. Now apply that to everything else you eyeball throughout the day - the olive oil you cook with, the peanut butter on toast, that handful of nuts, the dressing on your salad. Across a whole day those little guesstimates add up to hundreds of calories you never logged. This isn't about being obsessive or weighing every gram of broccoli forever, it's just about being accurate enough to know what you're actually eating. You can eat the foods you genuinely love and still hit your goals, but only if you know what you're working with. Eyeballing is just guessing, and guessing is why most people end up stuck even when they think they're staying on track. Put the mug on the scale, pour the creamer, and log it. It takes 10 seconds and you stop guessing if you’re eating for your goals.
