@redditdramaspace: AIW for telling my parents they can't take my toddler to their "off-grid" cabin anymore? @Two Hot Takes #reddit_tiktok #storytelling #redditstorytime #redditreading #aita
I could’ve written this, my in laws have this cabin. I’m so thankful my son HATED going, even at 3 and asked to not go.

That’s YOUR CHILD your parents made their parental decisions with you and are not entitled to make those decisions with your child and they are not entitled to time with your child. Set those boundaries and stick to them.

Learning his boundaries right to his possible death. It’s a toddler not a 12 year old.

U r NOT wrong! Imagine how you would feel if you caved and let him go and something tragic happened, you would never forgive yourself. Stay strong, protect your child. This is not being dramatic. There are too many things that could go wrong. Maybe if you went with them that would be a compromise and maybe when he gets older but not now.

I know what they mean brought up with a coal fire we knew boundaries but I would have made sure son was save not wondering about outside and that's why it's a no no

My only response would be “Is it YOUR kid? No? It’s my way or not at all.”

“We grew up like this!” But there’s a ton of cases of children going missing in the woods after they wandered off either found alive or not found at all

Letting him go for day trips? THAT'S WHEN IT'S DANGEROUS!

Definitely NTA! as someone that likes a lot of old school ways this cabin and the child’s age is SUPER dangerous! What if the child dies?

lol clearly generational differences as I'm 46 and think being out in nature is the most beautiful way to grow up occasionally getting the thrill of staying with your grandparents like that, what ab absolute adventure!
Core memories for the kid to enjoy rather than having screens stuffed in front of him and in his hands at every opportunity, numbing his mind instead! 😉
