I've got aircon, cost 3.5 k to install and cools all three bedrooms. I know you don't need it for much of the summer but I live in an older house and it helps keep the mold at bay the rest of the year.

My boyfriend bought a little portable air con on sale in January a few years ago. I kicked off about how expensive it was and we didn't need it. Eaten my words every heat wave since, it's only small so can only do one room but being able to sleep makes such a difference

I told my husband a few weeks ago, that we need to invest in an aircon unit. He told me no. He said that we are not paying out that kind of money for a couple of weeks a year. This week's heat hit and suddenly he comes up with a plan all by himself, that eventually we will invest in an aircon unit 🤦♀️🤦♀️

I live in a top floor flat, there is no downstairs. I'm down to closing curtains and windows to lock in the cooler nighttime air. Then flushing the flat by opening all the windows at once and making some funky angles with a few fans. It's tragic 😭😭
