renesmesharlote :
Senator Marco Rubio,
I know that you are a father, a son, and a brother. That is why I am writing to you with the hope that you can understand the immense pain that hundreds of Venezuelan families are enduring.
I humbly beg you, on my knees and with all my heart, to do everything within your power to advocate for the immediate release of the political prisoners being held at El Rodeo I. Many of them remain imprisoned unjustly, while their families continue to suffer the pain of separation with no end in sight.
They have lost precious moments with their wives, mothers, children, and loved ones. Today, some families are even facing the heartbreaking loss of relatives without being able to have their imprisoned sons or fathers by their side. The most humane and just decision would be to restore their freedom so they can reunite with their families and, at the very least, say a final goodbye to those they have lost.
I also write to you as a daughter. My father is being held at El Rodeo I, and every day I live with the anguish of not being able to embrace him. I firmly believe that he, like so many other political prisoners, has committed no real crime that could justify the suffering he and our family have endured.
Please do not abandon us. Please continue to raise your voice for those who cannot speak for themselves and intercede so that these men and women may regain their freedom.
May Almighty God bless you, grant you wisdom in every decision you make, and reward all your efforts in the pursuit of justice, freedom, and the dignity of the Venezuelan people.
With deepest respect and hope,
A daughter whose only wish is to embrace her father again.
