I HATE that they changed Jace’s ending, he goes from dying a hero to dying an idiot. And now Rhaenyra’s rage feels so much less justified. I can’t understand why they’d do this.

As much as I am against this toxic "anti changes" stance from the fandom this change is very big because Viserys' life is heavily shaped by this moment as is Aegon's. Not showing them is one thing but to not even mention them in the entire episode is very weird and threatens the show canon

Was so disappointed how they cut to half way through the gullet battle and then only focused on two ships during 90% of it especially because they hyped it up so much and it really wasn’t a battle because it started half way through. Same with daemons battle in the river lands cutting to the end when they hyped it up at the end of last season was disappointing. And they had an opportunity here if they wanted Rhaena to have a dragon and have a ark how about her go with the boys, and then escape the triarchy and then find greyghost not sheepstealer, and have it play out the same like that would have been better in my opinion overall was good but not worth the hype in my opinion

Was Jace actually trying to save his brother in the book or just flying to battle like the others after hearing of the attack? I just reread that section of the book and it doesn’t state his motivations either way. If he was, then why would he be burning ships as he wouldn’t know which ship his brother was on? I know the book has unreliable narrators, but I also feel this hero narrative for Jace is a bit of reader projection too.

I do understand why they didn’t add Aegon and viserys from a show perspective but at the same time they are essential to the battle and I wonder how the show will include them going forward

I really like all of the show content, but the book comparisons are annoying. Once the author stops, you should realize changes are coming. Both should stand on their own.
