People ask me why I love New Orleans so much and continue to return visit after visit despite it's shortcomings. No other city I've visited, be it Paris or London or DC or Miami or hundreds of other places between INSISTS upon joy in the same way. NOLA does not pretend to be perfect. It demands love anyway in a manner completely unique.

Our economy is absolutely NOT booming. we are very much at a lull in normal tourism rates and have been since Feb '25. The world cup has brought the numbers up mildly, but no where near normal rates and places are closing
