The problem is that many of these shipping protection films are clear plastic rather than some tinted color. This often makes it difficult to even know the film is there. I’ve found it on bits of my car and kitchen appliances weeks or months after.

You don’t even need them. They don’t scratch that easily…my previous car of 6 years had two large screens and they had 0 scratches from daily repeated use.

And as a detailer same thing with the new big carpet (sticker) protectors they get left on for a few years and they melt into the carpet

I work with tvs in peoples homes all day everyday, and I try and tell them the same thing, that the protctive film is only for shipping and should be removed once its out of its box because it WILL damage the screen over time, but they rarely want to listen
