We did this with my daughter’s wedding. Yes we had the $$ saved but a lot of times venue is considered a restaurant which is double points. We are also Sandals Diamond and have already earned 1 free week and are close to our second.

Yes! And if you have an HSA, pay your medical bills with cc and get HSA reimbursement to pay it off.

Canadian. So a language issue. When you say ‘on my cc’ what do mean? I have a credit card but its either at 0 or I owe from my gas and grocery shop $280 yesterday. If I put $20,000 ‘on’ my cc rn, my cc balance would be $19,720.00. I’m not getting what you mean, or are cc’s treated like accounts? They don’t pay you interest? I feel like imma missing something!!!😂

Oh man I was so good at this until I got laid off and my husband got sick. Medical bills pretty much negated everything we’d saved and now I actually have debt for the first time in my life. It’s terrifying. I miss when it was just there strategically

This! This is why I disagree with Dave Ramsey on credit cards.. if you use them wisely.. the benefits are amazing!! Key is you can’t use it to add up debt

My daughter lives overseas. I put everything on my preferred airline cc and pay it off every month then I get to go see my daughter for free. The yearly fee on the cc is $99

We do something like this. Pay all of our bills (except rent) on our 5x rewards card then pay it off before the statement closes. We get $40-60 cash back a month so basically it saves us on average $600 a year on our bills 🤷♀️

Same! I don’t even own a debit card because I put everything on credit, get the points, and then pay it off in full a few times a month. Definitely the way to go, but only if you are disciplined.

that's what I do! I pay the statement in full every month, don't get charged interest, and usually have a good $600 worth of points at the end of the year I use on Amazon to restock household things to start the new year with.

Sandals after living so frugal is an interesting contrast. Sounds great though do you need such luxury after living simply ?

How do people put so much on their credit cards? Almost all of our bills require we use our bank account otherwise they charge a 3% fee which defeats the purpose…..
