PSA: Kojic acid can make your skin slightly more sensitive to UV rays, and unprotected sun exposure will undo your hard-earned results. Sunscreen is a must.

Be careful with using kojic acid during thw summer if you spend a lot of time outdoors. It can make your skin photosensitive. I like to use it in the fall and winter.
