Addiction creates a strong dependence that affects behavior and decision-making. 3. Mental Health Problems Drug use is strongly linked to depression, anxiety, mood swings, and even psychosis. 4. Poor School or Work Performance A person may lose focus, miss classes or work, and perform poorly in responsibilities. 5. Family & Relationship Problems Drug abuse often causes arguments, mistrust, isolation, and breakdown of family relationships. 6. Risk of Accidents & Crime Substance use increases the risk of reckless behavior, violence, and criminal activities.
