I used to ride my bicycle miles away from home. No water, nothing. Be gone all day. No phone, no pager, nothing. One time I came home early and my Mom said, "why are you home so early"....like...I guess I can leave...I am a walking example of how my guardian angel knew his assignment.

The sad part is they can't, it would all be on video they would end up with records the world we had is not the same and it's actually heartbreaking the freedom we all just gave up in the name of convenience.

Sometimes we worry about how much of a home body my teen is. Then we remember we would be drunk and sleep in fields at her age and I’m greatful for my home body teen 😅

Gen x here. I think about this all the time! I have 3 teenagers at home! They haven’t been to one party, hardly ever stay out late, hardly ever see their friends out of school and when they do it’s during the day for a reason .. need to get something or watch a movie. They tell me exactly what they’re doing, who they’re with and I’m usually communicating with the parents. If they only knew the shit I use to do …😅 what happened!?! 😂

I think all us 90 kids are realizing our parents didn’t give one shit about us 😂 because my son is 15 and never sleeps out and just called to ask if he can sleep over at a friends house from school for an all boys little graduation get together that his aunt hosted and i said” not until you FaceTime with her so i can make sure you’re tellin the truth” lol he goes “mom i never go anywhere why would i now randomly make this up and call you on FaceTime to see where im at and you have my location ?” 😩😂 He’s such a good boy lol 😂 i was drunk at a random party playing beer pong til 6am and had to walk home 😩😩😩

They are definitely a different generation but we also watch them and genuinely enjoy being around our kids... most of us did not have that growing up

My mom moved out when I was 13. I remember sitting on her bedside, begging her to stay. She said I was grown and didn't need her any more. My kids didn't just do better than me, they got better than I did.
