I read a comment on another post that perfectly summed it up for me - heat from other countries comes from the sky, the heat in england comes from the depths of the earth, like magma heat.

It’s like when you open the oven and the heat hits your face but it never ends and it’s constantly like that with no relief no matter what you do whilst also being sticky

As a Malaysian, and been in London during heatwave TWICE, the way that my ass was sweating and wet when i stepped outside (and i grew up in Malaysia mind you, it’s summer 24/7!) i know no one is lying!
