Because god has to give humans s chance even tho he knows he is not supposed to stop u from what you are doing. The fruits was a free will and God had to leave the humans themselves to choose the free will which was the fruit it’s like a symbol of choosing to have free will

If a teacher had a bad student that doesn’t study and fails all their exams, would the teacher not give the student the exam knowing he is going to fail?? No and if and when be fails, would it be the teacher’s fault?? No, the student had free will to study

It was there to preserve free will, in all multiple realities Adam and Eve would’ve betrayed God, and even if they didn’t, someone else would’ve. So if he didn’t give them the option in the first place they would’ve have had free will.
