I love the fact that every boss never spares you. They either give up or something else happens. But the knight and flowery spare you. The knight is probably just because of Kris but flowery just spares you because he knows what asgore really wants.

And in Undertale you and Flowey don't have any EXTERNAL reasons to fight. Flowey has chosen himself to attack you. While in Deltarune you and Flowery don't have any INTERNAL reason to fight. You both don't want to fight each other but you both have no choice. Toby is fucking genius

I don't how people didn't notice that it's also to defy the fate of the prophecy and prove it's possible to change the ending, which also why ralsei hates flowery because Flowery was creating too much variables while Ralsei wanted to stay in the rules to not mess everything up.
