@bioncasmith3: Update for those of you that are familiar with Mama. 🤩 She has full bladder control again. 👏🏽 👏🏽 She’s drinking a lot of water but not wanting to eat still. I’ve been giving her the medications twice a day and syringe feeding her baby food. She is sleeping beside me tonight. ♥️ If I can be honest, this has been a tough week. Imagine spending all your money to keep businesses going and then your phone gets damaged. My phone is my office and not being able to use it properly for a few days caused so much stress as a creator. It also felt like a punch in a gut to have to wait so long to be paid. I have over 23k thousands of dollars in my pipeline and I can’t get access to it because of Net 30-45. It’s the reason why I couldn’t afford to get all Mama’s testing done last Thursday. It was $1,500 + and I had just paid over $4,800 just to keep the sanctuary bills paid. The greater truth is that I spent every penny of my own money to keep the rescue open and I takes nothing from the rescue. But when I couldn’t afford to get mama the testing she needed because I just paid all the sanctuary bills I felt like a failure and I realized how bad we need a fundraising team and recurring donations because if anything ever happened to me, the animals would suffer. This is the reality of caring for animals nobody wants for X reasons. Thankfully, monthly donation options roll out this week after our beta testing. Lastly…surprisingly, after an emotional roller, I’m still full of energy probably because I have live in help now at the sanctuary. ♥️ It definitely takes a village to keep this rescue alive and I’m excited to also get back to my office this week now that I have more help! I hope my transparency will help others understand that this role is not easy and is a full-time commitment. There’s a lot of trauma, drama and long hours. This is not something anybody does for money and the small rescues are the ones that need the most attention and support. Please find a rescue and get involved because most will not be as transparent as I am and they will give up in fear of being judged.
