They were the Days. I remember bunking in the outdoor baths, spending a bit of time in the indoor pool and on the boards until someone realised I didn’t have a band. Then back outdoors. Chippy stop on the way home. Priceless!

The Bronty chippy was superb. My nan lived in Waterloo road in the big Georgian houses next to where the massonettes used to be before they got knocked down
