I done this during covid 40 degree heat, I sprayed window on inside and just stuck the tinfoil to it it stayed there for 3 days uou didn't need the other stuff 👌

Aussie here. Keep your curtains closed during the day. Get a pedestal fan and put a large tub of water in front of it. And at night open the windows .

Aussie here, wet your windows on the inside and the Alfoil will stick straight to it. Also, for sleeping, wet down a bed sheet and wring it out. Put it over you, with a pedestal fan on, you'll almost feel chilly 😎 I grew up with no air con, I feel your pain! good luck!

As an Aussie, good job! It makes such a difference. You can also fill hot water bottles with cold water and ice and put it in everyone’s beds for cooler sleep

I've been putting shiny side out tin foil in my windows at home and never had a window Crack that's absolute BS. I just use a bit of soapy water and stick it on from the inside. Helps soo much. My major trick is screens on all the windows and I open them around 9pm and set an alarm for 5am to close all the windows and curtains. My dad would also put a fan blowing out one small window to pull all the hot air out. In Canada our summers are usually pretty hot. Now i have a 14000 btu portable ac and it cools my 500sqft apartment perfectly.

cold water is your friend. Aussie here. let the tap run at least thirty seconds to let any hot water go out, then put 10-15cm in the bath. dip your legs or arms in the cool water and you'll be surprised how quickly you cool down. a wet flannel and a fan at night in bed will help also. if you have a basement or large concrete slab under your house, lie down on it. you will find it heavenly.

I live in Morocco it gets flipping hot as hell I went on temu and bought insulated camping mats I put those up in my windows at sunrise my house is easily 20-25 degrees cooler I open the windows at dusk so the cooler air comes in

It will help. I live in Africa so here are some tips. If you don’t have a portable airconditioner or the running costs are too high, using shadecloth outside your windows ( hanging from the eaves) is a big help and lets you leave the windows open for air to circulate. You can also roll the shadecloth up when not in use. Inside, there’s a trick to cooling down that most people hate and I did at first too, but you get used to it after a few times- wear wet socks and put your feet in front of a fan. I know- you hate wet socks but trust me, after ten minutes you will be a lot cooler. Fortunately, your summers are short. We have to deal with the heat for at least 2/3 of the year.

In Australia we wet sheets or towels and tack them up over the windows. The breeze coming through the window cools stuff down. Like a coolgardy safe

Try this for next year. I take an emergency blanket and make a curtain out of it. Fold it over at the top and tape it to make a pocket for a curtain rod or string to go thru. Then just use it like a curtain. It blocks so much heat but you can still pull it to the side like a curtain whenever you don't want it there.
