I'll never understand why her haters claim that she has no character development when she's the one who went from working under people like Wesker and Simmons to actively going out of her way to save people. like saving Leon in re2, saving Leon and helping him with finding Ashley in re4, saving Jake, sherry and civilians in re6. her development was gradual too so it didn't come across as ooc

look the reason I hate her is because she brings nothing to the story, I blame capcom for that though. her character revolves only about Leon and she doesn't do anything except for boring "ooh I'm a morally gray soldier" but then there's nothing to actually back that up. people says she has a redemption arc but like where?? the only reason she does anything remotely good is for her personal interest like helping Leon out in re4 or to just toy with him in their once again boring and cliché cat and mouse game that never goes anywhere. so yeah she's a boring character that's painted to be deep but there's just nothing to back that up.

Ada is no hero character like Leon, people don’t get she‘s HUMAN and a grey character. Her job as a spy doesn’t allow her to show fully emotions or anything. In the end of re6 u can see her loosing control ONCE but then never again. I would assume ada was always alone so its not that hard for her but Leon changed something in her and yes I love talking about her

the way that when she is alone, she is always serious and tired because it shows on her face. and when Leon appears, she gets all smiley and brings out her personality even being on a mission 🥹

She’s actually a well-written character for people who learn to see through her façade and why she puts on a mask. She’s possibly the only protagonist in RE whose intentions are not as directly expressed as the others. It’s easy to label other characters as good or bad bcs they express their intentions in words, while Ada does it with her actions alone. She’s not a woman of many words lol and I think that’s what her haters find so unsettling about her 😆

The game does a pretty bad job of fleshing out most of its female characters. They’re not given enough screen time, complexity or backstory to feel solid to me.

The game makes it clear there's an emotional side to her. In the second game she felt regretful when Leon discovered her identity as a mercenary making him a witness she had to take down and then she saved him after that anyway, there were lots of examples where she put her life on the line to save Leon without any benefit.
